These guys flood EBAY with their product. Anybody know anything about them?
Yeap. San Diego guys with a warehouse filled with Chineese surfboards. I think at one time they did a few hand shapes. I just talked to a guy in the water that had one…broke it pretty quick he said.
I know your not just learning to surf…don’t make me get my brothers and drive up to PV in our Swaylocks pick up truck and knock that silly idea out of your head! Now go get some new foam and make your own beast.
All Chinese Surfboards. No one in the company has any board building experience or knowledge what-so-ever. Never shaped a board themselves. Run by a couple of guys who recognized early on the power of online sales, price point and computer marketing. Most likely one of the first companies formed here in the US to take advantage of the low price/quality Chinese surfboard. Dragon Fly built boards.

I’ve been warned!
Yeh… It is a 2 man operation with a warehouse in National City. I do some business with their neighbor.
The dude who started it, saw some boards in CostCo a few years ago, asked his buddy who worked at CostCo for the factory name in China, got a small business loan, and bought a container of boards.
I’ll tell you one thing… it is not a very profitable business. Too much competition, and, as with all low end products, it is all about price, and low margins.
Just a couple of dudes trying to squeeze by a living.
I heard from a reliable source the guy is a typical $$$ hungry type willing to burn anyone to make $$$. He even took a picture of me off my site to promote his stand up line of boards and had the balls to run it on his home page! I made sure he took it down. He said it was his “web designer” who didn’t know any better when it was really him… He then asks if he can buy pictures from me to promote his pop-outs he stole from someone else. Lame! I cannot begin to tell of all the lame, rip off types I have come into contact within the last year. PLENTY!

Ha ha! No pics but good idea!
I had a guy from who knows where living on Kauai order a board from me and specifically wanted the most up to date hottest design etc etc… A week before he was to pick it up I get a calls from friends there to warn me of a guy taking boards overseas to mold then selling it under his label… Guess what, same guy that was to pick up the custom board. I call him and ask him if he knew a lot of the boys on Kauai are my very good friends… He says no… I then ask him why he never mentioned he just brought a container of SUP boards in from China and is selling them out of his house in Kauai… He then starts a whole line of BS excuses… Needless to say, he never got that board.
Another one… We’re at a glasser here that used to do our boards and my friend notices one of our laminates glassed into one of their boards. I’m wondering WTF? The glasser says another guy we know says I’d be ok with it being a newer company, we could use the exposure… I’m NOT ok with it. I call the guy and he says sorry, won’t happen again and I somehow let him talk me into not making them grind it off. He assures me he will never sell the board which is my main concern being that its a piece of shit funky chine railed thing that everyone says works like crap. Anyway, same guy calls me back a week later to tell me how great the board works blah, blah, blah… I tell him just don’t ever sell it with my logo on it… 2 weeks later same call saying it works great, can they use my logo again? Haha!! Of course I say NO!! Don’t ever sell it!!! 2 weeks later I get a call from a customer… He asks me, why can he go on to Craigs list and buy a brand new board made by you for $100 less than what I’m charging him? I go into see its the same board never ridden, brand new! The guy dodges me for a few days then finally calls me to say, “What a mix up! That is NOT the board I was selling! I don’t know how THAT picture got on there, blah, blah blah!” Too much!!! Needless to say, I don’t deal with that glasser and other guy anymore… To top it off, that glasser comes into Swaylocks on occasion and claims to know all kinds of stuff. Truth is, he’s the worst contract glasser I have ever dealt with both quality and service.
Unfortuantely I got plenty more unethical stories and plain rip off stuff… Hahahahahaha!!!
I had one of his POS boards. Sold it quick for a loss. Those rails made the board slide all over on take off.
Wow, that’s f–ked!
I’d make that board disappear.
shady glass companies; shady people. Well Carve’s doing great, now people are coping him. Keep up the aloha Carve. And you should get that guy to grind off the label before he unloads it on some loudmouth and that crappy board gives you bad name; even if its not yours.
Howzit CarveNalu,Would love to know who the guy is here on Kauai. If you don’t mind you can PM me with the info. There’s only a few shapers here doing them and those that I know are doing customs not rejsects from Asia. Terry’s doing quite a few these days and if they are epoxies then the glassing is probably done by J.D. Aloha,Kokua
Need an import SUP? Look no further than EBAY for a look like Channel Islands stand up fish:

Or How about a Pohaku Paddle with no Pohaku/C4 laminate on it? Hmmmmmmmmmm
I wonder if it really is a C4 paddle?
