Hey, I’m all for it. But, if the waves are only as big as they were last year at the Plaskett Creek event, we’re not going to be recording very high speeds.

Of course the ISSSV will be competing with the new speed surfing association launched today known as the GASS (the Global Association of Speed Surfers). The GASS is a ‘Non Parfait’ organisation devoted to surfing speed. Membership is on a compulsory involuntary basis which should ensure rapid growth. The motto of the association is ‘Pax Vobiscum’ and the official philosophy is ‘Indifferent to style’. All members are able to be President.

Until next time, R Stewart, for the GASS
