I've only got 4 inches!!

So I’ve cut the profile on my long thought about fish. Using builders insulation EPS.

Length 6’4"

Width 22"

Foam’s 4" thick so I can get almost 4" nose rocker I think. Is that enough or should I glue another piece on the nose and increase the rocker to 41/2" as originally planned?

Advice greatly appreciated

cheers

Rik

Your obviously part Japanese then.

Possibly but not that part!

Rocker tables can change your rocker when you vacuum bag your stick.

On the other hand - if you’re not surfing the pole - it could be ok.

Four inches of nose rocker is plenty for a 6’ 4’’ board. Unless you’re trying to make something that looks like an Elf Shoe! Looks aren’t everything, focus on performance. ‘‘You can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need’’…Rolling Stones You don’t NEED more than four inches.

Been planning a rocker table for a while as well…

The Pole, no way, just too spooky. Manobier, Broadhaven, Fresh east and west are my stamping grounds.

Where you based?

Thanks for the input.

Yep - then 4" will suit nicely in those other spots you mention -

(Know what you mean re the pole)

Hi Bill, thanks for the reply, always good to hear from a Barnacle! So now the journey gets interesting and construction can progress. Have to hunt down some balsa…

4 for a fish is plenty.

Hi Rik, ( Nice thread title, I thought I was the only one ! )

Ive heard from a foam rep that sheet EPS can be bent with a heat gun. Test a small piece first.

Gently, gently.
