Jaws sighting in Cocoa beach.

I had the funnest day surfing since I can remember.

Then we had a giant enormous fin circling us. It was a few feet away from us and

about 2 feet tall or more out of the water. It was grey & white and looked bigger than jaws. We saw it several times and there was only one fin, so Im rullin out manta ray.

Take it for what its worth, all three of us were scared to death.

Im thinkin I need to report this to the sherriff. lol

May have been a Sunfish.

Do we have those around here? I would love to believe that thing wasnt a giant shark.

Because I really want to surf, but if I ever saw that again, I dont know if I could go back.

It did look like it was checking us out more than anything, but I didnt stick around long enough to find out what it was. I was thinking great white or an orca.

I never saw it moving, it was just sitting there. But like I said I didnt look for more than a second before I knew why they were freaking out.

It was ten times bigger then I could of imagined a fin to be around here.

Im still pretty shook up.

By the way it was by Stone Wood where we saw it.

The fin was easy that big. I sure hope it was one of those.

hey arioch, last week i saw a big whale at o’club. might have been one of those sunfish though. i would have crapped my pants.

I never saw a tail. oh man we must freaked that sunfish out.

You never saw paddleing like we did.lol Im not letting no sunfish ruin the best waves of the year.

I know what this fear thing is like, guys.

Two Great White attacks in our few 100 kms of coastline in the last two weeks. On fatal (and local) the other was just plain lucky. And that’s 3 G.W. attacks in less than two years (the two local ones fatal).

Still coaxed my wife into the water yesterday. But it wasn’t easy

I’ve seen mantas cruise with one wing out the water, looks just like an orca dorsal, scare the hell outta ya!

Mantas have one hell of a sense of humor eh?

Probably a sunfish, I have seen one in Melbourne Beach at the boardwalk a few years ago, thought I was hallucinating until someone told me what it was. Pissed myself at fisrt look!!!

Saturday, I was back out at the same place and something big bumped my leg so hard, it almost knocked me off my board. There are some big things in the water in Cocoa Beach right now.

Im gonna take a break and watch some football.

Ahhh… the joy of being in St pete.

Also, the joy of being able to kiteboard instead of surf (no offense to you surfers, just personal preference)

Sharks tend to attack non moving objectts or slow moving objects more then objects moving about 15-20knots and jumping out of the water randomly
