If you follow basic rules of respect, that you should follow in all aspects of your life, surfing anywhere should create a very low stress level. I have surfed, Kauai, North Shore, South Shore, NorCal, Oregon, Washington, and BC, as a resident and a visitor, and have never experienced anything but good vibes. Show respect and get respect. I am proud to be a lifelong Malibu Surfrider surfer, crowds and all.
A good friend did a major post grad paper on localism in surfing. What are the factors that create that mentality? He was able to show that those same factors help fan the flames of Nazi propaganda against the Jews. Those factors are deep rooted in our social development as humans.
Most radical surf locals are idiots, who think that violence and intimidation are tools to use in solving problems. It shows that they were the products of poor parenting and peer modeling.
I will probably see your surf movie. Good ad marketing using Sways to promote your film.
thanks for sharing that and thank you for the support.
here is another quote from our movie Jazz the Glass “we kill kooks”.
if you check out what we are doing and make sure the thinking cap is on tight…i think you’ll see how rad it is to think about things in kook vs. not kook logic.
WOW…pirates n surfers, how cool is that? Love it! And those dandy fellows with the 2 ribbons hanging from their collars, probably the precursor to bow ties that undoubtedly came about after getting one or both of their thingie garb caught while cranking the bucket up at the well…
