JC Video and Longboards?

Does anyone happen to know whether Shaping 101 deals with longboards at all? Is the information he gives pretty much what I would use for building a longboard anyway? Thanks. Alex

He goes over basic characteristics of boards and what tools you’ll need and some techniques. Doesn’t really cover shaping longboards but the basics are there. I recommend it if your planning on shaping your first. I’m hanging out to see Jim Phillips vid which is supposed to be out soon i think. It is supposed to cover longboards as well as short. Damascus Productions I believe is the outfit doing that one. bound to be a link somewhere round here.

Yeah, I heard about that video, I’ll have to get that one too when it comes out.

Thanks.>>> Alex The examples are shown on a shortbard, but it covers a lot infomation and techniques that are use on longboards. I personally shape primarily longboards and found the video helped me a lot with all aspects of my shaping. Good Luck!

Well guys, today was the first day of shooting,it was on a nine footer with sorft rails and a mild concave. Tomorrow the Damascus folks are going over the footage and seeing what needs to be changed in future shots. I hope it is what youy all have been waiting for. By the way I have been offline for the last 2 weeks, even established shapers like myself can’t always pay the phone bill on time (but we all know what nazi’s Pacbell are). So you wanna be a shaper?

So you wanna be a shaper? I don’t know if I want to be a full time shaper but I do want to do whatever I do the right way. I surf an incredible example of your work so I know there will be the same high quality in these vids.

Jim, I know it takes alot of concentration to get it to come together the way you want, but in the end it’s worth it.Herb. Break a leg!!!
