"Uncle Joe"   Progressive Expression---------Koloa town----------Sorry to hear it.   My sympathies to friends and family.

I’d always make it a point to stop by his shop to check out his shapes when visiting Kauai. His wife Marty always made me feel welcome. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Joe was well known around the Honolulu south shore for being a good, powerful surfer and a glasser for Interisland Surfboards; I lost touch when he moved to Kauaʻi but heard stories he was building boards in Koloa; rest in peace Joe, you will always be in our memories!!!

When I was a 16 year old gremlin, Joe was the very first pro surfboard craftsman I met at Inter-Island, he would take my then beginner shapes to the hotcoat for 35.00 bucks.

Aloha Joe and Mahalo for the guidance so many years ago.

Mahalo to all for sharing your memories of Dad - love to hear the recollections!!

Better find yourself another shaper and keep that shop going.  I'd be bummed if I came over this winter and it was closed.   Lowel
