Just shaped my 1st board need input!

Hello I just shaped my 1st shortboard after years of dreaming about it. The dim are 6’4 13x20x15x2.5, So how did it come out for a first time board, what could of been done better any mistakes seen? Any help would be great!

good-lookin’ board!..great-lookin’ workshop!!

…wish i had a place like that to work in :-\

looks good. shaping is the area where your problems are easy to correct, glassing. now that is the hard part

looks like a ferkin rocket mate

id love one

great work for your first board

wish mine were that clean

that board will work in a broad range of conditions

which is what you want.

all that volume

you will be paddling rings around your mates

but i cant see your rocker from those pics

now just glass it in epoxy

and it will be even better.

the best thing about that board is that it will work better than a fish in small waves

and still rip in some juice

and when your mates try it and relize it catches waves and paddles better then their potao chips

they will rate you as a shaper

and you can bathe in the glory

Your first board looks great! It shows that you have put some time and effort into your design.

On a side note - I’d try not to lay your sanding pad side down on your right angle sander. You will end up with a flat spot that will give you trouble.

Hawk-eye…

Nice job! Is that your shop?

man i wish that was my shop, It’s mike whisnant’s shop. I have to give mike a big thanks for the use of his tools and knowledge that the JC videos leave out.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that board. It’s nice.

Glass it yourself!!!
