JUST4 KICKS.................

WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN 1973 ?

I had a surfboard factory in Atlantic Beach Florida. Partners with Bill Hixon. We built around 30 boards per week. Life was simple back then.

Was working for Dyno Surfboards, and then Plastic Fantastic. Both in Huntington Beach.

Phebus…did you know Rick McHale ?

I can laugh about it now but 18 months non parole in Long Bay.

I spent '73 riding around Hawaii in one of my mom’s ovaries.

Good times.

1973, reduced my amount of surfing, and instead did lots of skin and scuba diving.      Made highly refined hollow aluminum Hawaiian Sling hand spears.      My spears were also used by Buzzy Trent, Pat Curren, and Alan Nelson.      Outstanding watermen all.     I can’t begin to count the Abalone, Lobster, and various fin and shell fish that were harvested and consumed in that time period.     Good times, and many good meals.

Was busy being 10. Interests were my bike and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

The calm before the storm… 1974 brough surfing and, er, sexual awareness.

1973, Ventura Surfer’s Point (Stables) before the walking trail and the parking lot, just dirt and rocks, my first car a '64 Chevy Nova with Aloha racks.  The year I moved to Ventura and rented a 1 bdrm apartment with swimming pool for $160/month.

surfing the waves north and south of Half Moon Bay non-stop during the day, working as the swing shift harbormaster at Pillar Point Harbor in the evenings, romancing sweet young thangs in between.

nothing but grins…

Name sounds familiar, but can’t put the name with a face.

Worked for Dick Lippincott at Dyno, and Bob Highsmith at Plastic Fantastic.

Doing time in County…I was 11 years old,… stabed a man. His old lady threw a beer in my face when in bumped into her at a kegger, complete accident. But he had to open his mouth up and say shit. He had a buckle knife.  He lunged at me, slicing me in the cheek, but I caught his hand. My superior cat like reactions got the better of him and I bent the knife back at him…using his energy, his life force…I plunged the knife into his ear killing him instantly.  My life changed that day.

Classic resinbutthead, classic… Mike
