Spent last week on Kauai with my brother Oneula and SrPato’s family. We had hoped to surf Hanalei, but the surf was maxed out most of the time and the winds were not cooperating either. Mark, AKA SrPato, had a nice 7 something speed egg he made, his wife Karen had a similar shape from Bill Stewart. Unfortunately, the waves were either too intense for Oneula, who’s shoulder is still not recovered, or too small. We did have some fun though.
We also saw Ambrose for a while. I yelled out his name when we passed his shop several times, then we had a chance to see him just before leaving. Love that guy, he’s a rare gem.
The 2 spots I had hoped to ride once again, good Hanalei and Pakalas, will have to wait until my next visit.
