I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about this board http://www.swaylocks.com/resources/detail_page.cgi?ID=957. How did it work out for them? How much rocker? Is their anything you’d change? I’m planning on making my son a Doho board for this summer and I really like how this one turned out (though I may skip the flowers ). I appriciate any help you might be able to offer!
Hey Dan - my girls loved this board, they had tons of fun on it and could carry it down to the beach themselves (yay). I don’t recall the rocker offhand, but it was nothing way out of the ordinary. I used the Proteck fins for safety reasons, and no, I don’t think I would have changed anything on this board, other than if I did it today I’d use ProBox instead of FCS. I wanted everything round for safety reasons, thus the mini-log shape. Of course, that being said, they enjoy this board, and Dad’s fish, and tandem on the longboards, and boogie boarding, etc etc etc. But this board worked really well for them, and I never had to worry about them getting klonked in the head with anything sharp or heavy when they were using it. 'Nuff said.
It sounds perfect! It seems really well thought out. Could you recommend any nose/tail rocker measurements?
ok, measured it. the mini-log has 2.5 inches nose rocker, 2 inches tail rocker. Hope that helps…

Thank you very much! Its much flatter than I expected.
Hi Keith,
What blank did you use? Thanks.

I don’t remember that, but I’m sure it was a Clark - sorry!
Hey Keith
Board looks great for my 13yr old daughter who’s kinda small for her age.
she rides a 7’2" funboard like a mal , walks the board etc, trouble is it’s hard for her to carry at 21.75" wide.
If it was stretched to 6’6" what width would you suggest and how would it go as a single.
thanks

Hey mooneemick (great name, what does it mean?)
It would work fine as a single. You could go an inch wider if you wanted to, depends on the kid’s arms too - not as much fun if they can’t carry it themselves!
Hey Keith
Thanks for the info. So true with the kids much more fun for every one. It’s a 400m walk down to our local so she does struggle.
Got my name from my mates, I live in a village called Moonee Beach and my name is Mick.
Were really keen to do this project together and will post our progress.
Building a new shed (project surflab) at the moment and should be underway in about a month with the board.
remember it’s all for fun
