Kind of "supercharged" my fish

I made some 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 ( if i remember right ) side bites for an my old minimal, but its not really worth saving. So, after seeing herb’s supercharged boards ,and chips mantra of more plugs and fins!, i put some fcs plugs into my keel fish. The gap between the fins is an inch, and half of the base of the supercharger is in front of the keel, and they have a little less toe. It wasn’t easy without some kind of jig, so i hope they aren’t too out of whack!!. Will sand on monday, and try monday arvo.

Excuse my messy garage!!

They look great !

Ya with glass-ons I have a special skinny jig.

Your plug sets look great(remember nothing is perfect, nothing).

You Chargers are in the Rusty C-5 size, but that’s okay as you have large keel fins in that board.

Later on, I’ll try and get you a set of my twinnie SCs they are roughly the same template but are only 2" x 2".

Let me know how it goes.Herb

Thanks for the kind words herb, i saw on another thread you were saying whereabouts to put them, so i copied your advice ( as best i could haha ). I will definately report how they go.

Took it to work today and sanded it ( pretty roughly i might add ).

I will be trying it out tomorrow. Keen to see how they go. I have been surfing this boad with the trailer lately, i just find it easier to surf, so it will stay in for now.

Cheers .

Hey Beefan,

That’s a great job ! It looks like it will GO my man !

I still think you could get away with smaller SCs …HEY…THIS IS A PLOT …ISN’T IT ???

That’s okay ,because it worked !!! I GOT THE STOKE AGAIN !!!

Off to build a HUGE batch !!! Herb

Definately felt lke it paddled a bit faster. It’s always got good speed, but it flew today, although the waves very steep and almost shore break, so im not sure about that. Turning felt very good, more “sure” if that makes sense, and it felt like i could do tighter arc turns. I will definately keep this setup for a few more sessions at least! . Thanks herb, and chip for inspiring this mod!!!

Beefan,

It’s sounds like you got it right…faster, quicker, tighter radius in the turns as well as paddles better .

Wait until you get some point type break waves…HO HO HO !

After you get the hang of your new set-up,pull the SCs out and go surf it…I’ll bet by the 4-5 stroke of your arms you’ll go back to the beach and put your SCs back in the board, but don’t let that stop you,try catching and riding a few waves w/o them in.That will tell you what’s , what.

I think you’re hooked…that’s because they work. Herb

good on ya mark

yeegads

a board with more than a twin keel …is that ALLOWED !!!

brew some blooming speed [ie: surfing]

cheers

ben
