Kiteboard used as surfboard.

Hi all my first post so firstly hello all on this site.

I recently came across this footage on surfline.com http://www.surfline.com/video/premium-partner-video/annihilator-series-catching-up-with-bruce_49796 checkout the kiteboard brice irons is using in sizeable mexico. go to 02:28 to see. the thing is like 4’9’'… look at the speed of that thing. From someone who loves going fast this thing caught  my attention. Anyone know if the design could be incorporated into a more functional surfboard(paddle wise that is,think bruce was doing step offs) without sacrificing to much of that speed. Any R&D going on in that area. What design aspects produce that sort of speed.  I was drooling watching that. Coming from someone who is still learning the ropes when it comes design would love something like that. Any input would be appreciated and welcomed.

regards

Dan

uhm I think you should try the “Stretch Nathan Fletcher 4 Fin”… the smallest one is 5´0.

Kiteboards does not have much rocker,

Bottom:

Vee in the nose transitions into a single concave through the rear 2/3rd’s of the board with the deepest point between the rider’s feet. Slight vee in the last 1" of the eases transitions and reduces “hang-ups” off the top.

I think there is some towinboard style design.

thanks for the reply slasaholaf,

Came across a board made by maurice cole, with tow heritage. called the prowtow from memory. I realise they dont have much rocker but there are plenty of regular boards that dont either. but they wouldn’t work so well in that sort of size u would pearl pretty much every time and that speed never seen a board so fast. anyway perhaps my questions may appear stupid, though from my end i  wouldn’t think rocker is the sole contributor to that sort of speed.
