Kokua.....Abducted by Aliens!?!?!!!!!

Anybody seen our old buddy?!? Heard reports that he was seen striding through Hanalei town, all dressed up cowboy-style, heading towards…Arizona??? All the while screaming something about being “over it”. What’s up??? Aloha…RH

Howzit Rick? Kokua said he may be going to the desert, on the Colorado river between AZ and CZ, to run some family business, but that was a year or two ago… Maybe the “call” came and he “answered.” Or maybe he’s taking the tramp steamer to New Zeland to give Roy “Tom bloke” a hand coming back for the speed contest… Ha! Taylor

Maybe he’s down under mowing Bert’s lawn. OK. Sorry. Kokua’s the man! Come back, Kokua!

mowing berts lawn. funniest post ever, perfect. seriouzly though ihope kokua does come back, i love the way the only that pisses him off is incorrectly installed fcs plugs. and his super-informative glassing posts rule.

Howzit chip, Just got my DSL reconnected since moving and the phone Co. finally got me back online after 3 weeks. Good to hear from you and I haven’t been on Sways since 5-10-06 except for 1 day at a friends house. Aloha,Kokua"

So there you have it! Arizona= Resin Research. Kokua must have gone to Arizona to cut G.L.'s grass. I think that a DSL is a high-performance Mercedes Benz lawn mower, a must for an extreme place like 'zona. I can imagine Kokua racing around in his high-performance ski boat out there on the Colorado river, cowboy hat, big 'ol waterskier belt buckle, and those pointy-toed cowboy boots! Boy, does that guy know about style!?! Any other news? Aloha...RH

“mowing”

… an unfortunate typo

enough of the mowing jokes and digs at bert already

yawn

this place is going to the dog pack

dick hold by name , dick hold by nature.

He’s probably offended more people in his lifetime than the number of boards he’s made.

Howzit Rick, You’re definitly a funny friend, the trip with the aliens was very interesting and informative. They are into surfing and have some of the most advanced technology when it comes to board building. They felt I was one person who would appreciate their technology and pass it on to fellow Swaylockians.

Actually when I moved the phone Co. forgot to reconnect my internet service ( Hawaiiantel is so messed up ), but they finally got me up and running again yesterday, so I will be able to log on now. Hope you guys were OK while I was gone to far away galaxies. Glad to be back. As for the Az thing I will be going there for a little over a month starting July 20th through Aug 25th, yeehaw this boy don’t wear cowboy hats. By the way the shop is history and now at Mez’s house where it will be resurected and I will be glassing his boards for him. He offered to let me keep glassing for my other shapers but I told him that since we are making a lot more $ doing construction I would rather just do part time glassing and just do his boards.Aloha,Kokua

Alright! Mahalo buddy, and Aloha…RH

Funny you guys live a 30 minute drive from eachother and don’t know whether you still live on the same island anymore or not. Rick, get off you lazy arse and go to hanalei once in a while would ya?

Lol it’s not that crowded!? Hey kokua sorry about the shop hope it isn’t too much of a set back. Sounds like poundin’ nails has been a bit more consistent. Are you still west of town or closer to Rick now?

Other than the fact that Earth was destroyed and rebuilt while you were absent, everything has been fine…

Howzit Jim, The shop will be resurected at Mez’s house. Mez is from the Carlsbad area and is a reallygood expierenced shaper who has been on Kauai for about 25 years but still shapes when he goes to mainland. His finished blanks are some of the cleanest work I’ve ever seen and he has lots of followers in N.S.D. area. I will be glassing his boards and hopefully we can do some LokBox installs. I still see Rick around the area but he’s working in Kapaa and they are doing some brisk business. As for the work I’m doing, there’s not much nailing but lots of electrical/ plumbing work going on. Aloha,Kokua

Cool! Good luck to you guys! Say hi to Rick for me when you see him eh?

Aloha Kokua,

I came over to look for you but could not find you as I was blinded by real estate signs. I got your message when I got home, and was bummed because we were on the North Shore for a while. Even with all the social pressure we saw so much beauty, met some great folks, and enjoyed the company of old friends.

I had made a point of stopping in on Ambrose, feeling a little sorry it had to be short. He had just finished his first RR epoxy 11'ers that had fun written on them in invisible ink. His shop is cool! and was mesmerized w/ sensory over load. There were two of "Handshper's" guns in there, wow!!

Met a local Balsa skin guy on the west side. He had a beauty quad!

Thanks to all!!! What fun, I learned a lot.

Howzit Jimmy?!? Long time! I teamed-up with Imua, and we’re glassing for most all of the top guys ( no, Brewer doesn’t count). Made a few career moves, and now I’m a sander. All the years I lived here I’ve always been looking for a machine guy, and now I’m it! Actually digging on it, and my precision sanding has helped move us up to the top spot along with John Del. Blanks started flowing again, and we are all blown away at the quality of the Aus. foam. Clark foam is kinda shitty, amazing that everyone was duped for so long. I think that I’ll check on getting the L-B kit back from Kokua, maybe I can start using some in a few units. Really glad that the Aliens let the old guy go, we were all getting pretty worried! Aloha…RH

Classic Rick! I knew you’d find your niche!

Like Kenny, the sander at moonlight once said “you have all these steps but the board really comes together in the sanding room!”

Knowing you I bet your doing the best sand jobs on the rock!

Go for it and do some boards man! When you need fins you know where to find me…

Howzit Jim, I’ve seen some of the boards Rick has sanded and they are really sweet looking. I don’t know when I will be up and running again at this time so rick should stop by and get the set up from me. I used it a few times for LB boxes and let me say it works insane and so easy to use. Aloha,Kokua
