So I have a laminated board (polyester) that has been sitting in my basement for about 6 months. I am sure it has lots of contaminants (dust, finger prints, ect…) all over it. The lamination is hard to the touch and not tacky at all. I definately used Lam resin but it is super hard from sitting so long. I was wondering what would be the best way to prepare this board for the hotcoat stage. I’m thinking of rubbing it down with a clean rag and some acetone. I am also thinking about brushing a thin coat of Lam resin all over the board before the hotcoat to get that tacky surface back. Any help. ideas, and suggestions would be really great.
Wipe it down with acetone, you’ll get the tacky back.
