Getting together with a fellow swaylockian to help him glass his board tommorrow. He’s got a P/U blank and poly resin/mekp. Problem is it’s raining…should we wait?? or wiil it be ok??
Laminating during rainy days is no problem, if you isolate the enviorment and control your own.
Anytime you are glassing outside under direct water drops is asking for trouble, you might catch a cold or slip and hit your head. Worse, you might see your creation float away.
Leave heat lamps on, roof overhead, and no hurricane blowing thru and you’ll be fine.
glassing while is raining is not such a big problem…glassing in the rain might be…keep it dry…resin /catalist mixtures act different depending on temp., humidity, and even barometric pressure …from what ive found…
Howzit aquafiend, If I had to wait for it to not be raining on Kauai to glass I would probably be able to make about 20 boards a year. The dampness in the air from rain can and will mess with your kicking time but when you live it you learn to deal with it. Aloha,Kokua
