I have a couple questions concerning the laminating of a volan deck patch. First, should a deck patch and an entire board lenght piece of glass be laminated at the same time? Or should the deck patch (which is the first layer of glass-I believe?) be taped off and cut when it’s gelling, and then glassed over? Second, how should the patch be cut out? Should the patch lap over the rail and be cut there? Or should the patch be cut just inside where the bottom sheet of glass laps over the deck? Finally, I’m more interested in how they did deck patches back in the 60’s, but if there’s any variation in how they do them now I’d like to know also. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks, Graham
