hey everyone, my question is, when your placing your layers of glass on the shaped foam can you put them on one at time and wait for each one to dry before adding the next layer or do you have to glass all the layers at once EX. glassing the deck with 2 layers
One at a time is easiest if you have little experiience. Two at once is the way to go if you are confident in your glassing technique. A second layer can be done as soon as the first one gels, rather than waiting for a complete cure. Either way will bond just fine.
Sammy is right. If ya want to make it even stronger triple wrap the rails. Do the deck then the bottom and another on the deck wrapping around the rail. Its a little more prep but worth the work. Its how we use to glass guns. It makes the board 50% stronger from breaking. and makes for a pretty strong rail. So when you get into some rail bumping no problem.
