Just a quickie guys. I was wondering how to install those plastic ’ eye ’ leash hoops, the kind of traditional looking things. Do I bond it to the stringer, and then glass over it, making a small incision in the cloth, with a scalpel so the eye protrudes?? Laters Peaman x

Any thoughts???
I’ve glassed them on to old boards after sanding down to the cloth and haven’t had one pull off yet. I’m sure you could add one after laminating a new board, hot coat it, sand it and if you want, gloss it. I spread out the glass and rope so it bonds over a pretty good surface area (2" X 3")- sand it smooth like you would a glass-on fin.

What I didn’t do is put any roving along the edges (doh). It looks fine, but I wonder whether it will be strong enough to tame the 10’ log? Should I put a small Volan patch over it? Or have I just my worry head on.
dont worry about it i did the same thing you did for my 9’8 my 9’10 and my 10’3 i recently made and tested them out in 6-10ft surf. they all held up just fine. go surf. austin
