Leash loop

how many peices of fin rope do ya’ll use?

Austin: I do these on all of my own boards. I just use super heavy mat strands but it all works like rope. Try a dry bundle of rope or strands about 1.5 times that of a pencil. I tape one end tightly, mix my lam resin with SA (wax) in a cup and push it down in the cup to saturate, pull it out between your fingers. Apply it before hotcoat or lay it out on the the sanded hotcoat, about 5" or so. I use a plastic straw or tape covered pencil to hold the loop up off the deck. Spread the ends out wide to cover more surface area and keep the center pinched. Smooth and fuss with it to your liking and let it gel. Spin the straw carefully to keep it free after it gels. Finish it up as you like. Tom S.

yep thats exactly what i did. i like to try first ask later. haha. at least it worked this time.

Been wondering about the following setup for a while. Any advice for the leash setup when a hole is drilled through the stringer, extending through the fin box (assuming you are using a box). Nylon string is then threaded through an knotted. Any advice for doing this type of leash system?
