Left over Sika primer MB epoxy

I use epoxys at work (Flooring contractor) and some times get a lot left over.

I have used rubber tile glue epoxy for ding repairs and it works but it is a little thick.

It is more fun to use free leftovers for surfboards than reuse them at work.

Last week I had a warranty job that had moisture issues. Half way through they settled

the claim and pulled me off the job.

I now have 6 gallons of sika 3:1 epoxy cement primer. The epoxy is very watery with a blue tint.

At 70%F it has a cure time of 12 hrs and is used to waterproof cement.

The epoxy is so runny (low viscosity) that I think it would work for infusion or wood penetration.

I would love to make an EPS compsand with it.May be some premade thin balsa skins.I will

run some tests, but would like to hear from the experts before I play around with it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Lava…love to hear about your results. No idea, personally, what you’re going to learn. All I know is that Sikaflex beats the H3(l< out of any other silicon/caulk/adhesive…so the product must be pretty good.

(Sorry you got stuck with it - it probably was expensive - no wonder you’re trying to figure out what to do with it…)

I have a lot of 1/16" thick balsa to treat, if it works well. I might be able to take some off your hands. But don’t try to pull one over on me, I’m from Bolinas!

Hi Benny1,

I was working T&M so I got $50 an hour and they paid for the material up front.

I have heard it is stupidly expensive.Cost me $0.They got their final $30 grand and paid for what I did after I found an active sewer leak. win-win

The epoxy is light blue and very thin and dries to a light blue high gloss finish. They say the second coat must be done in 36hrs or your sanding for a mechanical bond.

I had two and one half 10 L (2.64gal) buckets left over. I sub for a company that gives me 2x what I need every time I use it also.I have a friend that wants a bucket, so I have about 3gal to play with.

I want to make a 10’ SUP board with it for Point Bonita if it works.

PM me if you want to play with some.
