Legally...whats a surfboard, a non surfboard,a model and insurance dodging ideas.

Im starting a surfcraft business but one of the stumbling blocks is insurance. Didnt really consider the expense but my insurance guy says that if someone tries to sue, I will need 10 million dollars cover. At $856 per annum. possibly for ever after just in case someone uses a board in 30 years and then hurts themselves.

But if its not described as a REAL surfboard or working surfcraft, then it could be classed as a 'model' or a scientific 'non-working prototype' and the insurance is substantially less.

So does everyone have insurance ? what sort and at what expense?

If you dont, how do you get around it?
