Little Red X's and No Pictures

Just to bring up a point about recent posts with pictures:

I thought it was just me, but others seem to be getting those little red X’s in a box instead of the pictures we want to see.

Mike, any solutions?

Thanks, Doug

I’m having the same experience.

I tried to post the same damn photo five times. Resorted to uploading as an attachment, which I find less desirable. I wish this forum used convential forum code for images, such as IMG, etc. It’s so much easier to host an image elsewhere and bracket the url with simple code.

Uhmmmmm - let me try something…

Okay, that’s as uploaded. Now, for something different - a larger version which is on another server and just the URL is referenced:

Okay, lets see how this works…well, seems to, at least right now. Lets see what heppens when I post it… yep, that worked too. Okay…what is it?

Uhmmmm - just offhand, if the images are linked from a third party image hosting site, I’m thinking that maybe the permissions in the image server you’re using are such that it won’t let you link to off-site pages or include those images in off-site pages? You may be able to change those settings at the image hosting site, I dunno.

hope that’s of use

doc…

OK. I see two test patterns in doc’s post.

I normally use tinypic.com. Just because it’s easy and you don’t need to create an account.

Just upload and copy the IMG code. Simple.

So, here’s one using the code…

I can see mine and doc’s…

How 'bout the rest of you?

i see 'em both…

here’s one from photobucket…

Here’s one from MySpace

If you just right click on the pic and select “Copy Image Location”, It will give you the URL. Or you can select “View Image” and copy the URL out of the address bar.
