local motion boards

how are they? i just got one by ricky carrol 6’0 x 19 3/4 x 2.5, sqaush tail. i know its pretty thick, what should i expect

“what should I expect”

Well, it depends how you surf, what size boards you have been riding, your physical size, and what kind and size waves you are riding.

LM has been making hi performance shortboards since before '69, so they make decent shapes.

What year board is yours, and who is the airbrusher?

Surf it and find out…

Local Motion surfboards are good… but this surfboard could be the magic surfboard for me and the worst peace of crap for you… or viceversa, that depends on what you are used to surf and on what type of waves you ride, your weight, your level of surfing, etc…

It’s just matter of personal preferences…

Ricky is a good shaper…

im 15 120lbs, surfing for about 2.5 years(winter included) and live and surf in crappy NY. my boards have been a 8’6,6’0 fish now this.

watch that crappy new york comment

Lee, when did Local Motion start making boards?

I have no idea!

Seems every board company claims it’s been making boards since the invention of Clark Foam.

I clearly remember LM’s from '68, the mini-gun pintail stage of Hawaiin board design.

Ralph Ehni, our first glasser, moved to Oahu in '70 and became their airbrusher for about 5 years.

Sorry.

Lee, nobody from '68 can clearly remember anything! drain bamage

You got that right!

What with my involvement in plastic model tanks and airplanes, Gary Kingma dropping by everyday I was shaping to share a baggie of Toulene, Bobby TLove and Jim Sinnobli sometimes hangin, I’m surprised I can still somewhat type legiblely, but spell terribly.

Oh, those 3 years of high school football practice…that was really smart! At 110 lbs., I’d really get to play!

Yeah, those and 5 years of racing motocross about 40 races a year, rrreally good for the brain cells.
