Loehr Designs travel far

Hello Greg,

Here are a fews just for you of a nice board I saw this morning, waiting for repair at Surf Experience, a glass/shape shop in a small town near Bordeaux, France. Wonder how it came all the way here … Interesting bottom shape on that one.

model : Alex (Barrel Surfboards)

Thanks … The bottom shape was something we called Cat channels. I’m not sure I remember why we called them that but they were done differently than a channel bottom or a concave … kind of a combination of the two. We had an advertising line that went, “If it’s not a Cat it must be a dog.” It was shaped with a special soft pad on a sander with some masking tape as the guide. Made a bunch of them for myself and really liked the way they rode.

Fun to look at older boards … Thanks again.

I see it has ofishl fins does anyone still use them.

Jeeeeesus what an handsome model !!!
don’t know the history of the board and the way it finaly ended there

Interesting because at Surf Expo in January there was a board in the Board Builder’s Pavillion with channels shaped on the bottom… the company was trying to get a paten on the idea! LOL You always were way ahead of others!
