Log shots

Hi

If any of you loggers have pics of your beloved boards please post shots. the chipper has realised he needs to shape a good longboard and needs some inspiration methinks. fin shots are great too.

The Sprout has a lot of nice logs too.

Hi

…no i don’t usaully wear a legrope…

yesterday

Fun with a balsa inlay and a chambered balsa blank.

Let’s see some nice, er… curves:

thanks guys …some nice looking mals there !

what length and width are most of those , I wonder ?

The blank at hicksy’s is I believe a 9’ or 9’2 [I forget which] .

It’s already had a 15yo girl attack it with a planer , then loose interest , so I have a feeling I’ll have a bit of evening out (and “refoiling” perhaps ?) ahead of me.

But it would HAVE to be easier and quicker than what Grant is going through with the “Auslocks” board , and went through with the “moonrocket” board before that !

Once the auslocks and hixell boards are done , I hope to get up to Grant’s to have a look at the blank , and draw a template or two

to be continued …

and please , continue to post some outlines here…

thanks !

Here’s one from the personal archives for you chip.

12’ Mickey Munoz Superglide epoxy from Surftech… I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this thing… By far the most fun overall I’ve had surfing EVER. Big waves, tiny waves, whatever… With my canoe paddle this thing allows me to surf up and down the coast in one session…

Just having fun yesterday in some small surf with it…

Just the perfect vehicle to take it all in…

9’4’’ Tyler, best log I’ve ever ridden. Nose rides, floaters are like butter and it turns real quick.

Just a couple from over the years…

A few I’ve owned:

L-R: 10’4" Velzy '63 Model, 10’2" Bob Miller custom noserider, 10’0" Stewart Colin McP Noserider, 10’0" Pointblanks Noseglider, 9’10" Velzy (Phillips) High-Perf.

A few I’ve made:

10’0" “The $143” from the “$14 blank” thread, 8’0" double-ender, 10’0" balsando #1, 10’2" balsando (best I’ve ever made, one of the most magic I’ve ever ridden), 10’0" 2# EPS diamond tail, 10’2" d-cell noserider.

And, for profiles’ sake, a few more…

L-R: 10’4" Hunt El Gato, 10’1" Hunt New Dimension, 10’0" Con Super Ugly, 10’0" Steve Bigler, 10’0" Robert August Classic Custom, 10’0" Hobie Phil Edwards Speed Shape

ah the $ 143 the board that launched a 1000 other eps boards. hows that thing holding up. my eps fish has definetly seen better days.

i have a 9’6 pintail longboard thats really nice. and good for all around wave riding. i really have been puting off making a new longboard. but this one does it all from 1 foot knee slappers to overhead

here’s one I just finished working on this morning. My companion piece to the nugget my friend gave me last year, which I still haven’t touched yet.

… ummm… er …well…

I SURE wasn’t ready for THAT ?!

‘Log’ , ‘nugget’ … I guess I should have made the connection though, really !

That’s a lot of log for a little guy , though …you sure you weren’t overgunned in the bowl with that this morning ?

cheers mate , you sick puppy !
