Lokbox standard cant and depth?

Anyone know what cant to use when setting the boxes? I know there is a “standard” when using the install fins but can’t seem to find it anywhere in my searches. The reason being is I’m tossing in some canard turbos (don’t have them in hand) and I know they come with a ton of built in cant and I’m not sure where to set the fins that came with the install jig. I’m thinking 6 degrees but would like to know for sure.

Second question, the router depth is 1 3/16, right?

I usually install my boxes flat relative to the bottom of the board. Unless I have some crazy vee or concave. You can tweak your angles a little, but for the most part its built into the fin base. Don’t have the exact measurements for the router depth.

Point, you are correct. Set all 4 @ 6 degrees. Thanks Jim

Thanks Jim. What about the route depth on the Ridgid? I do test panels but I’m tired of messing with that every install.

By the way, I’m looking forward the the install video on the site. I wish it was up for my first go at it a few weeks ago, but I imagine it will be a huge help for other moving forward.

Thanks again for the help.

Hey Point,

There was a lokbox video install made by NY_surfer floating around for a while, that used the Ridgid router. I have a copy and could email it to you, I think it is too big to attach it here on the forum, the file will play on windows media player and is about 27MB in size. I don’t mean to step on your toes Lokbox for distributing this, I hope this is OK with you.

Mike

Since you mentioned the Rigid router, I’m assuming you’re using the non vac jig. I don’t have the instructions in front of me, but IIRC, the depth of cut for the non vac jig is set by first placing the router onto the flange jig & base plate, then zero-ing the router by lowering the tip of the bit to just touching the surface. Then you rout the to the instructed depth using the 3/16’s increment marks on the Rigid trim router.

Nice. Thanks for the links.

Thanks Bud! Spot on BTW. I’ll have a vacuumless vid up pretty soon here. Thanks Jim
