loking for a helping hand with first board

I have been looking at swaylocks for a couple of months and I thin I am ready to go for the first try. I have the JC vidios and have watched them over and over. I undestand the prosses I just want to see it done on a longboard. If ther is anybody out there that wouldn’t mind having a wall fly at ther next shaping let me know (San Diego or surounding area). The bourd I ride now is a 9 0 that I got from a friend that is on the edge of being pro. He had it for 8 months so you can emagine how beat it is. It has a lite glass job with a sanded finish. I think I would be more at home on a 9 8 ish single fin with a hevier glassing. This is speculation because I have never riden one. I am a beginner and don’t have alot of money so a $600 new board isn’t an option. any help or advice would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks to all and keep getting wet!

Mike Eaton is a super guy who usually accomodates visitors. He’s in San Diego. Chances are, he’ll be shaping a paddleboard, but the motions are similar enough. He’ll probably also be working in Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) which you can make a blank out of with very inexpensive panel insulation from Home Depot. Just be really humble and offer to sweep up afterwards or bring a beer or a latte or something. eatonsurf.com
