Longboard center fin

I just picked up a new 9’2" pintailed longboard from Cort Gion. Beautiful board, great shape and he and his wife were a pleasure to work with.

He glassed in 2 very small side fins and usually glasses in an 8" center fin. I got a fin box instead for the center. The fin template he likes is very similar to the True Ames California Classic and Josh Farberow Flex Fin. So, I’d like to pick one of these up. Any thoughts on how these two differ in performance?

They are the same template. With sides, go with the non-flex, as you’ll get your drive from the interaction between the fins. If a single, the flex is helpful in completing turns.
