Looking for help picking and positioning fins for this 7'6

I like I mostly for hollow beachbreak, but I want to get some input before I get any new fins if anyone has any advice. Here’s a link to a video of the boards dimensions and profile, unfortunately it was custom shaped and the guy is MIA. Let me know what you think, TIA! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLncXwi8gkqnu4UZWtQrbGReWjy-9drW04&si=89Zm0KlttkMq-dO-

Nice looking board in the video, and it does show the fins he is using at the time. I really don’t have enough experience with this size board, and the conditions, but seems like a little trial and error would pay off in this case. I know its not very helpful, when you’re looking for specifics, but I recommend considering what others are using successfully at your spot, what has worked for you in the past, and maybe what your local surfshop recommends. Another thing I have done is just study the heck out of any photos or videos posted on internet by people who I have some confidence in. Just google “single with side bites”.

I’m no expert (far from it) but read an interesting article on finding a guide for size. Lie a fin across the tail of the board (perpendicular to the stringer) with the fin base around the centre of the box. Around 1/3 of the fins length should be outside the rail line. It more accurately reflects the width of tail rather than the 1"/ft of board method that used to be the rule of thumb.

Yes - I think CJ Nelson claimed this was Yater’s technique? This might change if you have multi-fin setup (more surface area and effective “length”). I see your ride/whip is a 2+1 and if I’m not mistaken you want the center fin to be significantly smaller if the side-bites are the traditional 3.5" - you might go from 5.5-7.5" center fin but that also depends on the surface area of the fin which depends on rake/base/etc and also depends on your desired ride characteristics (e.g. choose a cut-away fin for more turning capability and more of a standard Greenough 4A for better tracking)
