Looking for info on an old Stewart.

Help! I've had this board for years but don't know much about it. Any information would be great. At my age I'll never ride the size of waves this board can handle, but before I sell it would like to know a little more about it. It has glassed fins with GS logo.

Thanks!

JW stands for Jeff Widner one of the best production shapers ever.  Now he is the main guy at Lost.  He makes Biolas look good.

Is that the same Jeff who shaped for Hap Jacobs back in the early 70's?

What? It’s a fun shape. Suitable for beginners who ride mushy beach break and soft point surf.

Who told you that? They don’t have the slightest clue, or they were trying to make something average seem special. Looks like a perfect board for the GLs. Lots of float and would work in small slop.

Thanks for the information on the shaper,  it is a beautiful board. Surfers, surf shops and surf history, and… ok… consistent surf is limited here on the Great Lakes, we are here, but stuff like information on an old board is hard to find.

Since my local break is mushy and yes a small point break I might have a treasure here? I was told that it was a large wave “gun”? Made me feel like an idiot for buying it. Ok now I feel like an idiot. Thanks.

Here’s the order form for that board. It’s a funboard comp. Essentially a racier funshape with a bit more rocker. The graphics where most likely done by Doug Harlow.

I’ll have to take it out and play in the slop. Thanks! I am leaning towards the person who told me not having a clue. Obviously I didn’t :)…Thanks for the information.

Very interesting to learn the history of this board. Never thought i’d see the original order form. Cool! Knowing the artist is great. So, it was pretty new when I got it. Still ding free today. Before I change that… any idea of the value of this board?

Not much. It’s a used funboard that’s pretty damn old. Dime a dozen, these days.

Maybe you could sell it to someone from the Great Lakes and convince them it’s a big wave “gun”?
