I have an old tri-fin. It has two regular size fins and a tiny useless, very sharp 2-inch center fin. Center fin is way too small and makes the board slide too much. A lot like a twin-fin. I would like to find a center fin that matches the larger size of the outside fins. As far as I know they have not made these fins in a long time. Maybe someone has some laying around they would sell…? Or maybe there’s one in an old junk board laying around somewhere. Thanks. Pics attached.
Thanks a lot! Thought this was going to be a lost cause. I’ll post some photos of this 20 something year old board so you can see some 80’s east coast small wave board history. The board started out a quad with the two aft fins being the glassed on type. After one punched through my calf in a wipe out I had in 84 a guy who’s name is Darrel Lee make it into a tri fin and did an incredible job. I moved to San Diego from Fl shortly after and had to get a longer performance board for the bigger California waves. So there the board sat indoors year after year, so it’s in pretty nice shape. The most damage the board has seen is a fin gouge from a drop in and ding repair from a hack who sanded off 20 inches of paint & airbrushing to repair a 2 inch cut… After the fin is ordered I’m sending it to a pro to have it fixed right/restored. Thanks again for the fin link! I’m stoked…
That wasn’t me. I don’t belive I’ve ever been to 7th st website… I found this website from asking a guy who worked at BC Surf shop, who called a guy, who knew how to maybe find me the fins somewhere. Before that I tried google searches for star systems fins, etc… basically came up with Notta! This is a great site and a great resource. This web site * BB seems to have good folks posting here. A lot of the surf BB’s I’ve found here on the e coast were kiddy rant boards (which is OK) but had nothing further to offer.

Wow that’s kind of odd then, two people looking for the same obscure fins on seperate sites on the other side of the country. Glad you found what you were looking!
Maybe the wife made a post for me on that site. She was doing google searches for me trying to help out. What is the website address you are talking about. I’ll check it out. I’m not picky but I’d like to find the plastic version of this fin instead of the glass one since that’s what the other two are. I took that board out last week as a twin and it really sucked! The thing was loose and sliding all over the place. It was like stepping on a bananna peel. Usually I rip through the boards, bodies and manowar like Any Mapple does a slalom course. But when I dropped in on this board you could see the fear in the eyes of the regulars at my local break as I came through crazy legs style, lol… I think my surfing has progressed to the point I can’t go back to really short boards with fat rails. I’ve been riding Merrick comp tri fin squashes for years now and I really like them and how they turn. I still give this board another shot as a tri fin on small days → Good waves today… ←
