Looking for Paulownia Lumber in Northern California (Maybe Socal?)

Hi Everyone,

Any alaia builders in Norcal? I’ve been lurking for a while and am ready to dive in. I’m wondering if anyone knows of a Paulownia lumber source in Northern California. Alternatively, I’ll be in Southern California in a week or so and could possible bring some back with me. Not opposed to buying strips and glueing myself.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure where you are located but I just saw an locally made alaia in a surfshop in Sebastopol. Not sure if it was Paulowinia or not come to think of it, but you could ask the owner. It was called Quinn Brothers, give them a call.

Frost’s hardwoods in La Jolla/ Miramar have a pretty extensive supply of world hardwoods, a phone call might be worth the

effort, if they don’t have it, they probably know where to find it.

Might know of some in Central Cal.  Raw planks and timbers.  I check on it tomorrow. Also know of some agave if anyone is interested.
