makes perfect business sense. Lost… is a high profile US brand. Firewire needs more positive designer input, distribution network and market acceptance in the states. more sales means more money… thats what the investors want. might even put more Lost… boards on the australian market! Win Win.

would be top quick to jip nev and matt… they are busy guys… when nasa develop new tech they have whole teams work on projects… 2 heads are better than one… both those guys have market share and experiance enough to warrant help and create enough impact to validate tech. niether nev or matt are claiming the tech… nev went as far as removing his name from the tech and going with the lable firewire. and sold it a collaborative effort.

The way I’m seeing this is that there are now two majors (out of four) that are offering perimeter compsands. Watching the WCT this year seems to me Taj is the man. He’s not getting the results, obviously Kelly is, but in free surfing he seems to have stepped beyond the rest. Jut a personal opinion but I think we’re seeing now what Bert promised. A performance dividend.

As I see it, the real meat of this subject is the inability of any company to make custom compsands offshore. This leaves a significant oppritunity for a significant market for domestic builders. I’ve been working closley with Warvel, Segway and some of the guys right here on Sways on a new, simple process of compsand construction. We’ll be rolling out details in about a month or so. IMHO this could be a turning point for the industry and even for the DIY contingent.

In the meantime FW and Lost will be setting the table for us.
