am i spelling symmetry right? anyway, my question is in regard to keeping the thickness true on each side of the stringer all the way out to the rail. it seems like when i shape, i’ll constantly “eyeball” or feel out the thickness flow on both sides yet when i turn my rails, the thickness seems off on one side. it’s never off by much, but when i guage the thickness with my hand, it’s noticeable. is it because of my beautifully lopsided rails? is there a better way to measure thickness flow other than eyeballing or feel? thanks in advance. --kirk

If you switch hands it will feel the opposite many times. You can easily make a rail template out of paper and physically see the difference. It will come with time, there are so many “tricks” to sighting the blank, that once mastered would make your head spin. Jim
