There’s a good chance I won’t be able to make to Oneula today. Just got a call from my job that I’m needed to help fix a break down at the generating plant I work at (the local electrical utiity). Totally bummed, hopefully we can get the equipment running back in time to make it there. If not, hope you all have a good time and meet you guys some other time.
I wont be there either..but I will be arriving on Oahu around mid-day tomorrow and be there for a couple days. Anybody for an early surf at Oneula on the 4th.
Well I did get to make the Oneula Beach get together along with Keith and family, Bernie (Oneula), his brother Harry, Charlie, Randall, Shannon Hall and myself. Not a big crowd but it was fun. The waves were almost non existent, but some of us went out to get wet anyway. I got to try out Bernie’s Mandala quad canard. It was cool to finally put faces on the names of the people you hear from on an almost daily basis. Wish I could have stayed for the barbeque but I had prior commitments to keep so I split early but was glad to meet all of you gentlemen. Look forward to seeing you all again.
Aloha, Just waking up and the South is breaking pretty darn good. Going to hit Kaizer Bowl this morning before church and hopefully make the Ward Warehouse concert today (Na Mele Nei). Guess its a 30 year special event.
Some kind of contest at Queens? (Christian Surf?) I could not count the number of people out last night. Way too many.
Well its time for a cup of coffee and put the board together.
boards were out for inspection, of course. Standard operating procedure for any Swaylocker get together. Yes, it was a McCoy with a starfin, here’s a slightly better shot of the boards…
one more tandem shot (from far, far away)
and the view toward Diamond Head (the break called Shark Country, if it were breaking)
Wow, nice pic’s. Wish I could of meet some of the local Swaylock’iens while here. Next time maybe… Last night here so it’s an evening session at Kaiser Bowl and somewhere for a morning session… before I get kicked out of the hotel. All-in-all its been great with an open Na Mele Nei concert and last night I got to meet Herb Ohta jr and another Uke player (David).
