What kind of wood is good for making fins? Can I use the same type of wood that is used for making tailblocks (hardwoods)?
marine ply is the standard wood mostly. although i am not a fin maker. others might tell u what u can and can not use. dj
Try snooping around a cabinet shop for some birch ply. 9-ply is a good choice. I prefer 3/8" thick but many use 1/2". Good Luck.
thanks
