I’ve got this old 8’ Tanaka that I got a few years ago for $10. It has a much Waveset fin box and the lexan fin that was in is broken at the tip. I was thinking of buying a newer 8" sweep type fin for it and glassing it so it fits in the fin box. Does anyone know howto do this? I’ve thought about using some mold release type agent and lining the existing fin box and then placing the new fin in and using glass rope and resing just setting the fin. Before it fully cures then removing it. All the time keeping it still removable with the original screw. Would a modern Fin Unlimted box be able to fit inside a Waveset box and then just be glassed in? Would that work?
Any tips would be great. I’ll post a pic of the board later. Needs alittle work to make it water tight again. I’ve also got an older G&S Magic from the 70’s that has the same fix box but needs much more work to make it ridable.
