Can anyone recommend a good martial arts book that deals with breathing and stretching techniques that might be beneficial to surfing? Thanks
Can anyone recommend a good martial arts book that deals with breathing > and stretching techniques that might be beneficial to surfing? Thanks This isn’t a direct answer to your question but I recently picked up the book, “Surflex”. I think it would cover most of what you’re looking for. Quite a few of the exercises use one of those balance balls. I’m enjoying it. Martial Arts and/or boxing are excellent work-outs for surfing. Balance, speed, agility, the use of your lower body for power, great cardio, the whole nine yards.

Can anyone recommend a good martial arts book that deals with breathing > and stretching techniques that might be beneficial to surfing? Thanks There should be books about this your country, but I think what you should do is try it yourself, go to a martial arts center and give it a go. There’s much more then just the breating techniques that do good to your surfing. Learn how to get that power where en when you want/need it, with the use of your bodymovement and breathing, this and the flexibility that you get from training helps a lot. It does for me anyway (Tea Kwon Do 3 times a week for 1,5 hour). Peter Rijk.
Can anyone recommend a good martial arts book that deals with breathing > and stretching techniques that might be beneficial to surfing? Thanks The book of life is an outstanding place with which to begin firmly and patiently instructing rude, violently threatening locals. Proper breathing techniques are often best taught when one`s student is face down and short of breath after forcefully impacting ground of shore and especially asphalt of parking lot. It is never too late to learn respect and courtesy. It is wisest to find the pathway to enlightenment before entering the gates of payback. Arigatoh gozaimasu! Peace to all.

I was talking about using these techniques in surfing, translating/adjusting these to have more power in your turns and not the parking lot. I think the question was about this to. Peter Rijk
