I have multiple rolls of masking tape…233 and 2060…that all tear when I’m trying to pull out.
What I mean is, as I’m drawing out a length of it to put down a tape line, one side (or the ther) seems to get stuck on the roll and so the tape itself sort of splits down the middle.
Resinhead, I’m looking at you; the only conclusion is that you have somehow sabatoged these rolls in a cruel attempt to wreck my life.
just my opinions.Your tape could be old stock, even though it is generally a good quality tape, sometimes the adhesive underneath breaks down over a time in parts and can lift easily or not at all.Sometimes also happens due to being in a moist environment or a hot one for to long, maybe before you even bought it.Also have a look at the edge of your rolls.Sometimes the roll can have a small nick or even wayward adhesive on the sides from storage, packaging or even dropping on the floor. You might have success if you pull the tape off low to the roll, metre at a time or whatever and slowly.Merry christmas
Too old or has been hot for a period of time while in storage. The micro-wave tip may salvage it. If you live in a warm climate and buy quanities of tape(even if just a few rolls) keep it in a zip-loc bag in the fridge. Stays good longer. If you use alot of tape and use quanities of it pretty regularly it’s not on the shelf long enought to go bad. Sometimes its been sitting in a warehouse somewhere and comes to you already in this condition…
Must have been lot number 1234-5678-910-11-aBcdEFg. Please send me 2- $20.00 taped to the roll in question… plus shipping and handling or forensic analysis on the “adhesion mass spectroanalyzer”. Once the conclusions are made, send another $40 for a replacement roll.
