It clicked in tonight. Took the fish for a spin in the dark on a point break. Just got back. 4 foot, peeling long peeling rights. Pitch black. No moon. No stars. Nobody but me out. Phospheresence is starting to make me trip. Sets come rolling thru - can’t see 'em but feel 'em. Spooky. All senses are fired up. Paddle, drop in, fade left, hard turn right, SCREAMING DOWN THE LINE . Up the face , top turn, trim. Ride over. It finally clicked on that one wave. Holy sh*T that fish is fast. It took a nite surf alone, with nobody else out to get that wave – must’ve been a couple hundred yards. Tommorow the search is on for an uncrowded peak somewhere. I can’t wait for morning.
