You smart arsed little Kraut - I can’t tell you what a wonderful machine it is that you have created and sold me - it’ s even better than the mechanized/vacced profiler you copied from mine 25+ years ago!
I know there are people out there with lookalike, soundalike, nowherenearasgood machines who are tearing their hair out with very, very basic problems that you avoided with your Volkswagen mentality.
As I master your machine, day by day, I begin to appreciate it’s simplicity.
Thomas’s software has me intrigued - his '80’s sailboard design background gives depth to his various pages I work through - his design, design 3D, PDF, and toolpath 3D are great tools that get me closer to the end shape.
Hard to believe I would become such a closet designer just so I could attempt all the wonderful shapes I see in the surfing world materialize under your spinning wheel!
My connection with the shapes I knew 40 - 50 years ago - and all that followed - has been reborn - the hard lines on the screen force me to re evaluate!
Regards and thank you,
Midget
No angel wings!!!
PS – Why don’t you spend some of that $70,000 I paid you on some new clothes and a travel bag – one that doesn’t need a belt to stay closed ‘cause the zipper’s gone?
Now that you have my money, should I feel good that you have come out with your ‘Personal Shaper’ at half the price?
Just out of interest, are there still many investments being made in the industry? With the credit crunch becoming a recession and possibly leading to a depression we hear about big companies like GM being near to default and the like I was wondering if the surf “industry” was coping with the lack of liquidity.
Surf industry is being hit like everyone else. This thing still hasn’t really hit all the way … things will get worse before getting better.
Met Miki at Ken’s shop (Segway) some months ago. I agree with Midget. Ken’s got one of Miki’s machines souped up to do much larger product. It’s quite cool. I even think Miki was impressed.
That’s because as usual we sit back and don’t take advantage of timing. Thats why we get our ass kicked by other countries. Everything runs in cycles especially right before an election people start tightening down. The economy is bad. Lots of things are doom and gloom but when your down you have only one way to go --back up… Good to be prepared when things get balanced those are the ones that will succeed. In the 90’s when the economy went bad many surfers said f-it collected unemployment bought new boards and went surfing.
Just think if everyone would have listened to you pre clark closure. They wouldn’t have been scrambling around like a bunch of hookers in vegas.

Miki has a lot of Talent!
I believe Ken did the right thing by building a dream machine. It will pay off when the economy comes back. This spring he will kill it!
It’s time to re-group and re-organize while things are slow. The next wave will hit when peoples guards are down.
Regroup, reorganize get the next thing ready. Build prototypes, develop new processes, products. This economy won’t last forever and someone will come out the other side the winner.
