…and so the saga continues. Out of the dark, out of hiding, just as it all began…same old same old…
Just a couple weeks ago I met with a man of “real” wisdom. He gave me breakfast and advice and even I questioned him in the beginning, I understand now every day better how true he spoke. His advice will guide me.
The way you speak/write, youkook, tells me who you are, no doubt. youkook is a well fitting name, suits you.
So, someone is not happy with what I do? Despair, I was hoping to have much more impact with my actions. I was hoping to “piss off” many more, but they all come from the same corner anyway…
I have not been given much choice really, haven’t I?
The APS3000 is my creation and it needed defending. Over the last few months I have worked hard to keep it all going and to win back the trust many have put in my idea. It was not always easy and it was a big mountain to climb at times but I am surely not standing alone, many did help me, thanks a lot.
Does it all slowly crumble? You wish. Just the opposite is true. I have never ever before received more orders, I have never ever before built more machines and I have never ever before been more successful. In the last 8 weeks alone I have boarded over 20 planes, been setting up several machines, worked on improving the software and my machine and visited old customers on the way. Yes, the APS3000 is the bikini machine, stripped to the bare minimum… but very sexy. Received an email from my customer yesterday who’s machine I installed a couple of weeks ago. It said…and the machine is great by the way… Thanks for the complement, Shawn. Crumble, crumble??
Stripped of the APS3000 software I changed over to Shape3D. But not just like that, Shape3D needed to be reworked a bit. Thomas Vilmin had already started on a new release and he came over to Australia to work out details with me. This was a very creative time and he got some nice waves at South Stradbroke too. I like the new Shape3D, a very complete and professional package. The new tool path options open up a whole new dimension with higher degree of finish, no more angel wings, much smoother machine movements and so on. Download the free Lite version at

Shape3D can open files created in SurfCad (DSD) as well as APS3000 and Akushaper. Gone are the times that each software was an enclave of its own. This possibility opens up new ground. Like it? No? I do and many others do too. Like in other parts of the CNC industry, the file formats will open more and more. Just wait and see what’s next…
Machine production is well established now. The contracted company did a great job and I could not be happier. A big problem out of my hair. I can fully concentrate on software and machine development as well as customer care. Waiting time is reduced to 4 weeks and working with Shape3D opened the European market for me. Does that piss someone off too? Good.
To top it all, I have been awarded an Innovation Patent No. 2007100256 for my shaping apparatus. Signed and sealed by the Commissioner. The emphasis is on legally enforcable Innovation Patent…
However, the Kingdom did crumble. It is becoming a Republic bit by bit and I enjoy watching the development. Therefore the “royal” family had time to take surf lessons and we are all doing it standing up now…
