Thinking of making a mini simmons style board. It’ll be 5’2" X 22 X 2 3/4. I think the tail will be 19" wide.
Has anyone shaped something similar with a double-concave? I think tht this would make for a looser board than the trad single concave. What do people think??

With a tail that wide,
unless you have a Shaquille O’neil size 20 foot,
that is a hard tail to put on rail. (Turning)
VEE is the key!
So many people seem to think a concave through the tail will work.
Wrong!
Tails that wide require extreme amount of pressure to turn.
The smaller the riders shoe size, the harder ir gets.
That tail is 4"+ wider than the norm.
I use single to double off the tail.
With a fair amount of VEE 12’-16" up.
Makes 'em turn.
Without it is just horizontal surfing.
Do yourself a favor. Shape yourself a board that doesn’t look like a big ugly partially used bar of soap with fins. Don’t get mad, just kidding. NOT. No really, kidding. Listen to Barry he’s correct.
About vee: some folk’s swear by it -other’s don’t. But what -Barry says sounds about right on vee placeme

I just checked my quad it has 1/4" of vee! I must have subconsciously wanted more vee!? Lol. But near the tail about 3" up I got 1/16", and near flat out tips!:0
