Long time lurker, just thought I would chime in.

Mark a airwave makes the best board bags period.

Competively priced and made to any demension.

Takes about two weeks and there made in SF.

Dang, this is Swaylocks. Aren’t you supposed to make it yourself???

I used to make my own board bags out of old blankets and fishing line, with some rope sewn in one end to close it up. Unless you’re taking it on an airplane (a 12’6", not likely!), these always seemed to do fine.

Howzit Austin, If you go with Destination Surf for a bag they make great quality products.Aloha,Kokua

Austin:

Try http://www.boardsockshop.com/. They make a mexican blanket style bag and a few guys I know tried them and are very satisfied.

That’s the one I was talking about that used to be on the Hunt site

Thanks, UncleD!

Check out Julie Designs she makes canvas bags and rashgaurds, my dad got one for his 12’ Frye for about $50.

Have never been in there, but it’s in Ocean Beach, right down the street from where I live. Julie Designs is at

Depends on how much money you want to spend. I have a 12’6" and I am using 2 Mountain Equipment sleeping bags, the extra large versions. These have the heavier fabric outside, along with a thick padding. Use the same system for my 10’8" Flag, really protects it nicely as so well padded.

Hey guys,

I ended up going with boardsockshop.com and allie is making me a custom board bag with reflective material. She has never done it before so i will report back my findings. Here is the finished product that i needed the board bag for. Probably the last clark tandem blank…

I was really stoked with the way it came out. Double 8 deck single 8 bottom all volan cloth.

Great looking board, like the cloth inlay work! Glad to see that you too also kept the thickness in the tail like I did, will be interested to hear how she rides!

Where’s the side door of your Kombi gone?

Fantastic effort with the tandem mate…

 Never thought of that… with our left-hand drive vehicles, vans with a center door on only one side have it on the right - so when you park at the curb to let out the kids, they’re not jumping into traffic…I guess yours are on the opposite side, Hix? Or do you have them on both sides?
