Mop n' Glo - no joke

I heard that some manufactorers, who shall remain nameless will use mop n’ glo and a car buffer to finish/semi polish a sand finished board. Has anyone used this? It sounds like it would work. It obviously wouldn’t be a nice a full on gloss coat. But as far as finishing out some light scratches and semi - sealing the board (it has some kind of teflon additive?) it could be an alternative to spraying that nasty clear acrylic stuff. I have used dolphin skin before and it worked really well, but mop n glo might be a cheaper alternative? Whaddyah think?

Mike: Herb turned me on to using Future Floor finish some time ago. It isn’t nearly as permanent as a good gloss and will eventually wear off. On a sanded finish board that started out with an acrylic wash finish anyway it’s what I use on ding repairs. All of these products contain acrylic, the higher the content the more expensive it is, latex paints, floor finishes etc. Later. Do you use a buffer on it, or wipe on and wipe it off?

Let it dry, then scrub it lightly with a scrunge pad.Herb

But what is a scrunge pad? Is it a sponge, or like a brillo pad?

But what is a scrunge pad? Is it a sponge, or like a brillo pad? … It’s those green or brown pot scrubbers,or better known as a scotch brite pad.Herb

Whaddyah think? I thought I had hit upon the idea of the century back in the 80’s, Mop&Glo / Futura, etc. They looked great, then turned to chalk in the salt water. Damn, I had a lot of bitching dealers.

Damn, I had a lot of bitching dealers. … …with future the key is,“a thin layer” if this is done with a scrunge pad combo there’s no cloudyness or yellowing. Then you can go over it with some auto wax.Mop n glow is good but stays tacky to long, which will cause clouding/chalking.>>>>>>>>I’ve been using Behr industrial floor sealer it’s tough, and is resistant to solvents, water, and thick coats. It’s also much glossy-er,and nothing sticks to it.Herb

KINDO BLACK AND TARRY.
