More about POWER PADS

I think that i have a heavy hand when spraying my adhesive on the power pad. I am using 3M 90 and the stuff works great however, when I peel off the sand paper, it leaves a little bit of the backing on the pad. I now have, a slight mess on the base of my power pad. Anybody got any cleaning tips for this??? thanks as always in advance DREW

If you pull the sandpaper off when it’s still hot, it will pull cleaner. 3m also makes a product called feathering disk adhesive that tends to pull cleaner. You can generally find that at hardware stores or at auto body supply.

Howzit Drew, Try using Tacky for an adhesive,it’s easier to pull off the sandpaper when using. Also with 3M if you heat up the sandpaper with a heat gun it’ll release and there’s no backing left on the pad. Aloha, Kokua

when i use that stuff i only spray once around the whole sheet of paper im putting on. satys on good when sanding and then pulls off great. dont spray around the diameter more than twice.

I gave up using adhesive discs as they tend to fly off. I started using the Hookit discs by 3M they are attached with Velcro and don’t fly off at all.
