More Sanding Problems

Hello Everyone, Alright, Ive tried the 3M Super 90 and the Sticki both of which held the paper on a lttle longer then the Super 77 I was using. However, I still cant get the paper to stay on. After about 1 minute of sanding the paper flys off. I think it is gumming up way to quick. Is there a certain techniqe for using one of these sanders, I have only used orbitals in the past. Thanks for the help. Klein

Herb is right. To et your eathering adhesive to work right (3M is what I use) you need to apply it to the pad and smear it around with the back of your sanding disk or paper. Then let it dry a bit (little tacky is best) and then stick you disk down firm. You should have no problems unless you sander is really an industrial 10,000 rpm disc grinder in which case your life is in immediate danger. good luck

Thanks for the help.>>> Klein I was having a similar problem with the 3M adhesive not holding the sand paper on. It turn out that the suncure catalyst caused my hot coat to go off before the wax in it had surfaced. This was like trying to sand laminating resin and it would cause the sand paper to get very hot and move on the power pad until it would fly off. I was using a Harbor Frieght 3000 RPM sander. When I got to the polishig coat I had absolutely no problems with the 3M adhesives. Jon
