noticed this foam-like core with hard outer skin today in my compost pile. cool!
yup many pithy plant species like reeds & grasses have foam-like cores and are buoyant, ideal fuel for our board-building ambitions hehe i’m eyeing this type of reed for an HWS-alaia variant i’m planning to build soon :
