MR Twin Rocker Photo?

Good Morning,

Does anyone have a photo of a MR Twin Rocker?

Numbers are good, But I'm more visual

Thanks for looking!!

I posted numbers a while back, but as I recall, it was  4 3/8( or 4 3/4") nose, 2 3/8’s tail on a 6’2". not really a flip in the nose but the rocker is more pushed forward.

I have a 6' and a 6'6" that I could take pictures of. Let me know if you have a preference.

Here are some pics of the 6'0". Don't know how much help this will be. The camera distorts the rocker from some angles. Send me a PM if you want larger files.

Thanks alot! the pics are just what I needed
I can put them in Photoshop for a visual
Are those channels that make the V
behind the fins?(rear view)
that adds a whole new dimension!
I thought they were all flat bottom with
slight V between the fins.

This might help a little more. The wings are actually fluted, if that makes sense. You might not be able to see it, but the tail has a lot of V. But instead of the V continuing out to the rail, the bottom contour bends back up again. So it is sort of like a channel. The idea was that between the wings and the fluted bottom, the board would have more bite on turns and not spin out like some of the twins would.

The flutes made a noticable difference between the MR my dad had and the nearly identical G&S twin my uncle had.

So how deep do you think those flutes are?
do they start at the leading edge of the fins?
Is there any concave in the belly?
The first pic looks like there is a slight double
concave in the mid point.

yours  look like look a american make under license model can tell by the fin boxs i live in newcastle  and have only ridden his board for the last ten years he still make the twinny model and i wouldnt say they have a flute its more of a deep single to double concave

Does the deep single concave start at
wide point?
Or under the front foot and
does the double concave start at the
leading edge of the fins?
And what is deep? 1/8 - 3/8?

Vangoo, mine is an original, it was the last surfboard my dad bought in 1980, and it has the flutes and v.

Just went to the MR website to do a little research and figure out if yours is just a newer model, he has the 1982 Concave model with “state of the art single to double concave…” Both the 1978 and 1980 as well as the original free ride model have “a fluted wing which adds bite and alleviates slides when turning;”  And  “a deep-V bottom which gets the board flowing from rail to rail.”

The US boards were made under license by G & S. The Star Systems fin boxes were a G & S product as well. It's interesting that a G & S twin from the same era rode so differently without the flutes. My board is probably from 1980 or so.

These boards had no single concave at all. It fact, they have a V bottom from nose to tail. From the nose back most of the way, it is a V with a convex panel on either side of the stringer. About 8' up from the leading edge of the fins, the convex has transitioned to the beginnings of the flute. The flute is like a small concave area between the outside of the fins and the rail. The flute ends where the wing is. At that point, the flute is about 3/16" deep. The V at that point is about 3/8" per side, or about 5 degrees from flat.

Here are a couple more pics. Probably can't tell much, but it's the best I can do.

Thanks for all your time and info!
Man that’s a tall order for my 2nd
shape. But I guess you gotta dive
in sometime, I don’t think the shaping
will be too bad as long as I take my time
but glassing around those wings and flutes
is going to be a mother.
But hey nobody said it was going to be easy
and if it was everybody would be doing it right?
Getting the blank on Monday
fill you in on the progress as it comes along

Hey Mjshdj, don’t worry about the flutes and getting everything exact, the G&S with out them is a really fun board with out the flutes. Keep the deck flat, and the rails down, with a fair bit of V and you should have  a very fun board.
